Electricity Direct Ltd (EDL) was initially set up in 1999 to provide electricity to residents at Princes Wharf.
The business was purchased in 2005 and they identified a opportunity to provide lower costs electricity gas and water to residents in residential and commercial building.
Since their involvement EDL has embarked on a expansion program to other buildings in the Auckland by their active involvement in the electricity and gas markets.
EDL currently manages utility services in customer networks by invoicing electricity, water and gas, often on the same invoice.
They also manage several sites with hot and cold water, invoicing them on behalf of the Body Corporate.
Being a small Retailer often brings EDL an advantage, as they can provide flexible energy and billing solutions and the other larger Retailers find difficult to match.
EDL also have a small “back office overhead” and maintain a multilingual call centre that can quickly react to customers request and special needs.
These back office services are provided by our energy partner Smartpower.
The major customer benefits have been hassle free connection over the phone, consolidation of electricity, water and where available gas on the same monthly utility invoice.
